The fall of an Alumnae

One of the classmates from 1966, Timothy Chan 陳定宇 had succumbed to a long time battle of cancer on Wednesday December 13 at Rochester, New York. A memorial service in Toronto will be held on Monday, December 18. Please pray for Timothy and his families.

I remembered Timothy as an alumnae who valued friendship and family. A great supporter of the Canada Alumni, he drove through an ice storm in February 2006 from Rochester to Toronto with his wife, Teresa, in order to attend the special tribute for the 40th year graduates at the Annual General Meeting of the BHJS Canada Alumni. Although we had to delay the start of the meeting to wait for him, it was worthwhile to us because we knew how little precious time he has left. When he was in Toronto in August to visit his family, I joined other classmates and had lunch with him and he was still very optimistic about the upcoming surgery and treatment. Enthusiatically he was inviting us to go and visit him in his home, apparently his classmates have been frequent guests in his home in Rochester. Although we are sad of his passing and will miss him very much, I am sure he is in a better place now and his spirit will be still with us.
